A Dilemma of No-Place-To-Go...

Rest days are here!!! When summer is peaking in the horizon and everybody is sweating profusely from all the humidity and heat, we are tempted, nay forced, to go somewhere to refresh our bodies and our minds from all the stress and heat..

Maybe its also a subconscious green streak for the students that gets to take a brake while we are still slaving away like lab rats... Im one of the many who is envious as well needs a little R and R from all the hustle and bustle of being an adult so i had to come up of something worth wasting my valuable vacation leaves for :)

The first place that popped in my head when I decided to have a break was: OFF TO THE BEACH, after all the word itself is a siamese twin of rocking good time and stress freedom!!!

Unfortunately for me, the week i chose to leave was THE week, the holy week and I should have outreserved and outplanned all the other vacationers to the resorts. The operative words are SHOULD HAVE because silly me, I never figured that Holy week in the metropolis is like Christmas for children.. They plan and look forward to it with twinkling eyes and silly grins.

In my defence, I did plan its just that i didnt get no reservation nor any inquiry for I was thinking dropping in to the thousand of resorts in provincial Luzon region would have been fine... Much to my regret, This was not the way it is...
I had searched high and low from batangas resorts and even as far as catanduanes..Believe me, if i had the leasure of time i would have gone as well... But for naught, all resorts we inquired was already fully booked until the month of May...
Some of the options we considered and had to let go (bitterly!) were Acuatico Resort, a high end resort in laiya, batangas with an infinity pool and romantic ambiance; Montemar in subic, quite pricey also and the major reason we didnt even have the energy to inquire although it looked really inticing; Punta Riviera in Bolinao but we had to nix itr because of some bad reviews we read about their rooms and besides the travel time would take a lot of toll; Balay laiya, well recommended and reviewed resort in Batangas etc etc etc...

I nearly gave up thinking of a memorable way to spend the 8th of April, heck if all the places we were interested in visiting were fully booked that has got to tell us something right? I got to exhausted and discouraged from all the searching and inquiring with no sweet fruits for our tedious labor...
.
But lady luck apparently was still on my side and noticing my down trodden composure, she nudged me to the right direction.. I was nearly at the end of my rope when I stumbled upon a blog..opened it because there was an entry about one of the beaches I was planning to go and then i saw CASA SAN PABLO.. So i went and clicked it, maybe it was the blogger or the place itself but i was enticed and captivated..the pictures were good and the site well presented..Naturally, I checked the official homepage and I was up for treat... It looked homey and rustic..private yet eclectic..
I checked the rooms and the rate, which are major decision makers and it was affordable as well as the rooms are one of a kind...One would think your staying in an artist haven or at the least your strange uncle's guest room hehehe...
I contacted the place and Lo and behold, they are NOT FULLY BOOKED!!! So, i made the necessary arrangements and waited for the confirmation..
............which came after a few hour..After which i finally exhaled!!! I thanked the Lord, the sun, moon and what-not that my scheduled vacation will not be wasted with me collecting salty water stains in my clothes.

So, it's safe to say Yes, I am looking forward to going to this place...This notable country inn in San Pablo, Laguna called Casa San Pablo. A place where art and relaxation merges .My very own, albeit temporary, sanctuary...

Here's to hoping I enjoy my stay as well as for you enjoying your weekend...

Have a Blessed Holy Week!
