Zeybu!

We had our annual family vacation in the culturally rich islands of ZUBU, or as its commonly known now, Cebu. It was a graduation gift for both my baby bro and fave nephew because they graduated in high school and kindergarten respectively.

The whole gang headed to the airport, sans Manang since doctors are busy bees and  she was just gonna the next day. Since she already went to Cebu a few weeks ago and did all the "touristy" things, our game plan was to be tourists for the day and when she arrives she can be the official tour guide (MD na and tour guide pa hahaha!!!)

Check out our fun filled photo ops, travelling is always oh so fun and exciting when its shared with people you love...

Queueing to jet off to see Cebu

Ackie carrying his own luggage & wearing Dadad's trusty turban

Whoa! A movie star!!! hahaha
After we dropped our bags, luggages and what nots, we had our fill of good yumyums to keep us energized the rest of the day. Enjoyed a thai lunch in Ayala terraces then headed to our first stops for the day: Magellan's Cross, Sto. Nino Basilica, and Fort San Pedro.

Ackie saying a prayer outside the Basilica

I love the devotion Cebuanos have with being Catholics. You can feel how solemn it was when you enter the Basilica or any of their churches. You can hear all the prayers eminating within its walls. How I wish all the churches in the Philippines would have the same feel as the ones I visited in Cebu. It's more on one's communication and connection with the Lord than the regularity of attending Mass.

After saying a prayer and asking for our individual wishes (as my Mama tells us: You should say a prayer and a wish every time you visit a church for the first time), We went to Fort San Pedro.

Cannons for protection
Papa recieved a warning whistle because he tried to seat on the tip of the cannons, on the edge of the fort walls hehehe. It gave the guards a near heart attack hahahah

The Fort and its conquerors
I found a quaint lil cottage inside that I lurveeed. I can picture my self living in this Irish-like cottage living a simple chill life, uhmmm yeah maybe when I'm all old and gray na lang heheheh...

My future retirement cottage. Love!
After walking our feet to exhaustion, we were all famished and I wanted to experience Larsian. It was greatly recommended and wanted to check what the fuzz was all about. Larsian was like a BBQ version of Dampa, stalls everywhere and you choose your meat while they cook it. Downside was the smoke! It filled the whole area, like eating with smoke machines nearby.

All in all, it was worth it! That coming from a family with asthmatic history.
Yummy BBQs
The banana leaf covered RICE
After getting our stomachs filled, we headed to our nest for the night to rest our weary feet and fatigued bods to prepare for another day of fun in the Cebu sun...
